Framed Cabinets
Framed cabinets are a more traditional, American-style cabinet. The face frame is made out of a 3/4″ thick solid hardwood. The door is then attached to the frame which adds dimension to the door front. The main advantage to this construction is that it gives the cabinets more strength and sturdiness since the doors are secured to the frame.
Frameless Cabinets
Frameless cabinets, however, do not have this extra frame in the door front. They offer a sleeker, modern look that’s popular in Europe. This box construction provides full access to the cabinet interior and larger drawer box capacity. Without the frame, frameless cabinets rely on a thicker box for strength and stability.
